World Water Day is celebrated around the globe on 22 March every year. It is an opportunity to make the public aware of the problems and conflicts associated with water, as well as the positive steps taken to protect aquatic environments.
The SILMAS project partners have decided to create a special event on the Alpine lakes to coincide with World Water Day 2012. They will take advantage of the opportunity to publicise the outcomes of the project and get the public involved in fun activities related to the lakes. The event will also be attended by all those involved in protecting and using the lakes on a day-to-day basis.
Five lakes will be chosen, in the five countries participating in the project, to be the venues for this flagship SILMAS event. You are all welcome to join us for this key event!
